Streak built a CRM inside Gmail, and for a solo dealmaker tracking a pipeline it does that job well. Sortd starts from a different question: not who owns the deal, but who owns the mailbox. Shared inboxes, assignment, deadlines, SLA rules and boards — with a lightweight CRM included rather than sold as the whole product.
For people and teams that live in email — finance, hiring, travel, procurement, program management, sales and BD.

A CRM assumes the important object is the relationship and that email is evidence attached to it. That holds for a salesperson working named accounts. It stops holding the moment several people share one address. Then the important object is the message: someone has to own it, it has a status, it was promised by a certain time, and if it is missed a customer notices. Sortd is built around that object. You can still run a pipeline — Sortd has one, with custom properties and reporting — but you are not paying for a CRM and then discovering that the shared inbox, the assignment and the SLA are somebody else's product.
Comparing headline prices between a CRM and an email workspace is only fair if you are honest about what each includes, so here is the shape of it. Sortd Business at $22 per user per month annually includes unlimited inboxes, users and automations, CRM pipelines, SLA rules, advanced custom fields and unlimited history. Streak's collaborative CRM features sit on Pro, reported at roughly $49 per user per month as of July 2026, with Pro+ and Enterprise tiers above that. For a team of five, that difference compounds into real money every month, and Sortd is covering the shared-mailbox job as well as the pipeline one. Check both pricing pages before you decide; these things move.
Sortd is native to Gmail and Google Workspace rather than a replacement for them, so nothing you already have goes away. Gemini still drafts in your voice, Google Meet still records and summarises your meetings, Google's search and labels work exactly as before. Those are Google's features, not Sortd's — the point is that Sortd complements Workspace instead of asking you to leave it. On top of that sits Sortd AI for triage, and Sortd for Agents, which lets you connect whichever agent your team already uses rather than being locked into one company's assistant.
Streak has been doing Gmail-native CRM since 2012 and it remains a sensible choice for a solo founder, consultant or small sales team whose main need really is pipeline tracking with strong mail merge, and who do not have a shared mailbox to run. If that describes you, Streak will do the job and you will not need what Sortd adds. The case for Sortd begins when more than one person is answering the same address.
Does Sortd replace a CRM?
For Gmail teams running pipelines out of the inbox, usually yes — Sortd includes pipelines, custom properties and reporting. For a large sales organisation with forecasting and territory management, no, and Sortd is not trying to be that.
Can we use Sortd and Streak together?
Yes. Some teams keep Streak on individual sales pipelines and run Sortd on the shared mailboxes. Both are Gmail-native, so neither moves your mail.
Is migrating painful?
Your mail never moves, because it was always in Gmail. Recreate your stages as Sortd lists, drag threads in, invite teammates and connect your shared addresses.
