Open Sortd cards from assignment and mention emails on mobile
Tapping Open in an assignment or mention email on your phone now opens the card in the Sortd mobile app, or sends you to the store.
When a card is assigned to you, or someone mentions you in a comment, Sortd emails you a notification with an Open button. On a phone that button used to land you on a web page not built for mobile. It now opens the card in the Sortd mobile app, including when you tap it from the Gmail app on iOS or Android.
If the app is installed, it opens the card's details, loading the right board first if it has to, whether the app is already running or is started by the link. If it is not installed, a page titled Opening this task in Sortd offers Open in the Sortd app or Get Sortd on the App Store / Get Sortd on Google Play. On desktop nothing changes: the Chrome extension opens the card as before.
Email addresses are also easier to lift on a phone. In a card's linked email, tap the sender's name to copy their address; the row briefly shows Copied followed by the address. In the mail preview, tap a name or address in the expanded From and To details to copy it.
How to use it
- Open the assignment or mention email on your phone and tap Open.
- Choose Open in the Sortd app if your phone asks which app to use.
- No app yet? Tap the store button on the same page to install it.
Good to know: Needs mobile app 3.0.5.1 on Android or 3.0.5 on iOS. Both assignment and mention notifications are supported.
