This Cookie policy explains how Sortd, Inc. use cookies to recognise you when you visit our websites or any other subdomains used by Sortd applications.

These Terms form part of Sortd's Privacy Policy.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small text files – usually consisting of letters and numbers – sent by us to your device (including but not limited to mobile devices, computers, laptops (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Device”)). They are unique to your account or your browser. Session-based cookies last only while your browser is open and are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies last until you or your browser delete them or until they expire.

Cookies allow a site or services to know if your computer or device has visited that site or service before. Cookies can therefore be used to identify you, help understand how you use the site or service, help you navigate between pages efficiently, help remember your preferences, and generally improve your experience of the site or services you are engaging with.

Does Sortd use cookies?

Yes. Sortd uses cookies and similar technologies like single-pixel gifs. We use both session-based and persistent cookies. Cookies set by us are called “first party cookies”. Cookies set by other parties are called “third party cookies”.

Third party cookies enable third party features or functionalities to be provided on or through the site or services you are using. Third parties could include business partners, suppliers, sub-contractors, advertisers & advertising networks, analytics & search engine providers, payment providers and logistics. (hereinafter collectively referred to as “third parties”). The third parties that set these cookies can recognise your device both when it visits our Sites and possibly when it visits certain other websites. Sortd sets and accesses our own cookies on the domains operated by Sortd. In addition, we use third party cookies, like Stripe.

We may combine non-personally identifiable information collected through cookies with other Personal Data that we have about you, for example, to tell us who you are or whether you have an account. We may also supplement the information we collect from you with information received from third parties in order to enhance our Services, or to offer you information that we believe may be of interest to you. Where we use Cookies to collect information that is personally identifiable, or that can become personally identifiable if we combine it with other information, the Sortd Privacy Policy will apply in addition to this Cookie Policy.

These are cookies that are required to provide you with features or services that you have requested. For example, Cookies that enable you to log into our Service(s). Disabling these Cookies will impede the Services’ performance and will likely make the Services unavailable.

Analytical Cookies

These Cookies allow us to understand how visitors and users engage with our Sites and Service(s). This includes information about the number of visitors to the site, what pages visitors view on our site and how long visitors are viewing pages on the site.

Analytical Cookies
Google Analytics is used by Sortd for aggregate data to understand trends and usage patterns so as to improve the Sortd services. Google’s analytics service does not collect personally identifiable information on our behalf, although Google may know who you are for their own purposes. Google Analytics is used by Sortd for aggregate data to understand trends and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses only first-party cookies for data analysis. This means that the cookies are linked to a specific website domain, and Google Analytics will only use that cookie data for statistical analysis related to your browsing behavior on that specific website (i.e. Sortd).  According to Google, the data collected cannot be altered or retrieved by services from other domains.

You can prevent Google Analytics from recognising you on return visits to Sortd by disabling Google Analytics through their opt out tool at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/
Analytical Cookies
The Mixpanel analytics services may also by default collect the following from your usage of our Services: the time of an event, how you came to Sortd’s services, what search engine and search keywords you may have used to get to our site, information about the device you are on such as your operating system, and browser, as well as your city/country location, tokens and IDs for push notifications. In addition, Mixpanel may collect on our behalf data such as your age, IP addresses, user names, real names, email addresses and other custom properties. The emails we send to you through Mixpanel’s services may contain web beacons to track on our behalf when you open and act upon such emails.
You can opt-out of Mixpanel’s automatic retention of data collected through your browser while on web properties or web sites that have Mixpanel’s services integrated from https://mixpanel.com/optout

To track opt-outs Mixpanel uses a persistent opt-out cookie placed on your devices. If you get a new computer, install a new browser, erase or otherwise alter your browser’s cookie file (including upgrading certain browsers) you may also clear the Mixpanel opt-out cookie, and you will need to revisit the opt-out page.

Note that Mixpanel’s opt-out cookies will not stop us from sending other data about you from our servers to Mixpanel, nor will it prevent any other data collection methods.
